The Sharing Heat and Knowledge on Energy Communities – SHaKE project aims to develop an educational package focused on novel district heating and cooling technologies for university students, professionals in the district heating sector, local waste heat owners, and HVAC and refrigeration technicians. The overarching goal is to facilitate the transition to efficient energy communities, which is expected to result in significant energy savings across Europe. This initiative will enhance the knowledge and skills of the target audience, contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.
To achieve its objectives, the SHaKE project will develop comprehensive educational materials covering the design and operation of district heating and cooling systems. These materials will be tailored for both students and professionals. Key activities include:
- Development of Educational Materials: Creating detailed and interactive resources for learning about district heating and cooling technologies.
- Blended Mobility: Involving students from participating universities in hands-on material testing and engaging site visits to provide practical insights and real-world experience.
- Dissemination Workshops: Organizing workshops to share the project’s results with a broader audience, ensuring widespread knowledge transfer and engagement.
- Regular Project Management: Carrying out essential project management tasks to ensure smooth implementation and progress monitoring.
The SHaKE project expects to achieve several key outcomes:
- Training of Students and Professionals: A significant number of students and professionals will be trained in district heating and cooling technologies. This number is expected to grow continuously after the project’s conclusion.
- Ongoing Access to Educational Materials: The developed materials will be made available on the project website, ensuring continued access for future learners.
- Sustained Educational Offerings: The courses developed during the project will be integrated into both university curricula and adult education platforms, ensuring lasting impact and reach.
The SHaKE project aims to foster a well-informed community of professionals and students capable of contributing to the efficient and sustainable energy solutions of the future.
